Build Your Own Shish Kabob Bar on CBS Chicago

May 21, 2017 By Homemaker's Habitat

From time to time, I receive products for review and/or include affiliate links from which I earn a small percentage from qualifying purchases, as a member of affiliate programs and as an Amazon Associate. Some blog posts and television appearances are sponsored by featured companies. All opinions stated are my own.

Creating a Buid Your Own Shish Kabob Bar is a fun and delicious way to get the whole family involved in outdoor grilling. Check out links to my television segment on CBS Chicago and recipes on The Inspired Home.

This morning, I had the privilege of visiting CBS Chicago’s Sunday Morning Newscast to share some fun, delicious and healthy grilling ideas for families on behalf of The Inspired Home.  You can check out the video below from CBS:

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/video/category/spoken-word-wbbmtv/3670085-healthy-family-grilling-options-for-summer/

Despite the early morning, it was a really fun segment and I enjoyed sharing some fun and unique ideas that our family really enjoys during grilling season. My favorite is the Build-Your-Own Shish Kabob Bar — such a fun idea — our kids love making their own kabob creations during cookouts.

The full story and recipe are both available at The Inspired Home.

During the segment, I also discussed making DIY Personal Pizzas on the Grill using Angelic Bakehouse Flatzza pizza crusts. Although we love doing homemade pizza with our own homemade dough, some days thats just not feasible and these yummy, crispy sprouted grain crusts are such a fun, easy way to do pizza — especially on the grill.

Television segments require a ton of work, but I really do enjoy the experience — there’s always something new to learn “behind the scenes,” and I love helping some of my favorite brands with their PR goals. I’ll be doing a few more local tv segments this week (the next two are for Angelic Bakehouse), so I’ll be sure to share those later this week. Wish me luck!
