Double Dog Days

Back in May my parents adopted a dog from The Chicago French Bulldog Rescue. Her name is Dotti and she looks like a bigger version of Zoey.

Dotti had a pretty terrible life before the rescue saved her.
When my parents first brought her home she was incredibly nervous around people and other dogs. She either barked ferociously or cowered.

But we’ve all been working very hard all summer to help her adjust (Zoey has been amazingly patient and sweet. She lets Dotti be Alpha, even at our house, and if Dotti starts to get upset Z will go over to her and hold up one of her paws to her and roll onto her back in submission. It’s so sweet to watch.).

In the last few weeks my parents have been traveling so Dotti has been staying with us, getting SPOILED. Treats, snacks, walks and cuddles…and more snacks. She and Z are getting to be good friends.

Dotti sleeps in her crate but every morning when I let her out she brings me a toy or shoe and wiggles with joy. She and Zoey zoom around the house and then we all go cuddle back in bed with JiT and Lilly.

We love having another furball around and are so proud of my parents for adopting her and giving her a better life.
