I’m woefully behind in sharing the recipe for the bread I posted last time…frankly, I can’t seem to find my recipe notes right now. But I have a pretty good reason.
I’d like to introduce Zoey, our new French bulldog puppy. She is 9 weeks old, 4.5 pounds and absolutely adorable (if I say so myself).
We’ve been considering getting a dog for quite a while now and when the opportunity to adopt Zoey came along, she seemed such a perfect fit for us that we decided to take the leap. We’re less than a week in (she just came home on Sunday) so we’re still adjusting. Puppies are a TON of work…your entire life changes overnight! But she’s been worth it.
We’re working to get her on a scheduel and she’s already made quite a bit of progress, but for awhile at least, the rest of our personal lives (things like eating, let alone cooking) are sort of on the backburner! But we’re adjusting and I’ve already got some easy-to-prepare slow cooker and quick-fix pasta dishes in mind for the coming weeks, so should be back to posting some delicious and fun recipes soon. But in the meantime, I hope you’ll enjoy a few precious puppy pictures instead!
Does anyone else there have any good puppy training tips or stories to share? We’re eager to learn from others so by all means, let me know!

I am just so excited about this. I want to come bearing food over the weekend to see if I can make her love me.

I am dying right now. I've been trying to convince my bf to let me get a french bulldog but since we already have a puggle and a samoyed I don't think that's gonna happen…unless you want to trade…PS – new reader here

Oh, she's just precious! Happy to talk dog anytime – the topic NEVER gets old. Enjoy every minute and keep those pics coming.

Your new dog is the cutest thing I've ever seen! I've wanted one for the longest, and with 4 cats it doesn't seem like getting one will happen soon, but in the mean time I'm going to stare at your puppy with severe puppy love envy!

Bring her to Jessi's so we can all play with her!!I have no training tips because we bypassed the puppy thing and adopted a dog that was already housebroken and crate-trained. (Me = too lazy to be a real mom)But I'm still happy to share what little crate-training tips I have! (And I have a great dog-walking service if you need one too.)

Hi, I just found your blog from a link by Tiny Prints and just had to comment on this post ๐ Zoey is adorable!!! And I think it's hilarious hearing you talk about how much a puppy changes your life (I have two doggies so I agree) because after 2 kids, it just cracks me up when people say puppies are so much work! They are! Just not in comparison to a 3yr old and an almost walker ;)My best doggie advice is to crate train her. You can get her a nice small adorable little crate- soft sided works too, it doesn't have to be the harsh metal unless she turns into a ravenous chewer! But our pups are so much happier having their safe, happy place in the house while we are gone. It cuts down on excess water consumption while you are gone…and the accidents that follow that. Plus, I feel so much better knowing that if our house was ever to catch fire, I could tell the firemen exactly where our pups are. They are members of the family afterall!
