Hi Gang! Greetings from Weddingland! I’m happy to report that the invitations were dropped in the mail today. Hooray! Cross that off the list….the still-very-long list.
Clearly, cooking and blogging continue to be sacraficed. I’ve eaten Chinese takeout 4 times in the last 6 days. I managed to make a salad with seared tuna one night. The other day we went out for sushi. Yeah, very out-of-character.
This weekend, we’re off to Ohio for the fifth (and FINAL) bridal shower. I am planning to make a gift of homemade heart-shaped marshmallows and hot chocolate mix in glass jars, so I’ll do my very best to get some pics of that beforehand, because this is such a simple and super cute housewarming gift, valentine’s day gift, etc. You really have to see it. So stay tuned.
In the meantime, and this really is a total departure from my normal blog topics, we’re talking fashion. I don’t really consider myself a fashionista. I’m more of an Old Navy/H&M/occasional Nordstrom shoe sale kind of girl…so in general I leave this topic to those who really get it. But with the wedding approaching, I’ve been enjoying the excuse to buy a few new things, and one of those things is a “travelling outfit” for the honeymoon.
You’re probably going to roll your eyes, but somewhere along the line I got the romantic notion that when travelling to your honeymoon destination, one should dress like a lady. Instead of my usual sweats and sneakers, I’m envisioning a lady-like retro travel suit and comfortable heels. Like I said, I really don’t know where this came from.
And for the longest time, I couldn’t really find anything that fit the bill. Something that seemed both comfy and cute. Retro but not ridiculous. Until I stumbled upon the website for ModCloth….a cute shop with lots of retro-inspired goodies at affordable prices. Super cute, and they’re always sending sale notices over email, so I wanted to share the info for anyone with similar fashion aesthetics.
And, finally, I give you my honeymoon travel ensemble. Still waiting for it to arrive to make sure its not totally ridiculous, but my hopes are high.
What do you guys think?
